puppet software package provides Centralized configuration management - agent startup and compatibility scripts, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install puppet
puppet is installed in your system.
Make ensure the puppet package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep puppet *
You will get with puppet package name, version, architecture and description in a table
